Installed the radios (replaced about 3 radios and remotes) myself plus a home antenna that allowed me to move it from car dock to boom box in bedroom. Being the primary subscriber allowed me to add three other users to my account as we greatly enjoyed listening to alternative radio programmes without having to search for FM stations when traveling out of town and losing preset stations as you moved out of transmitter range. You'd temporarily lose signal in certain places where you had extensive tree cover (Holland Bamboo Avenue) or parts of New Kingston between some buildings for a few seconds. Plus I no longer had the 'bother' of loading up my 12 disc CD shuttle 😀. Eventually gave up the service as the falling Jamaican dollar made it too expensive to subscribe annually. Still listen when they offer free two week periods (minus premium channels, of course).

Re: The online payment dilemma in Jamaica

It's 2018 now and I can't find a SINGLE credit card processor that supports Jamaica for my ecommerce store. You have to deposit somewhere between $30,000 to $50,000 to prove capability, then wait 3 months for your site to be approved then they take 4% from each transaction. Lord knows Jamaica need Stripe or other payment gateways that are a breeze to setup and only 1%.

Re: Private: Abortion in Jamaica, Legalize It.

yes oh where

Re: How to: Register your trademark in Jamaica

Thank you so much Gordon! huge help!

Re: Private: Abortion in Jamaica, Legalize It.

If you had read the article properly, you would have noted he said that his mother was raped... And yes, some dogs do abandon their puppies at times. You seem to believe that a condom or birth control gives a 100% chance of avoiding a pregnancy, which they do not. And you need to accept that not everyone in the world is a Christian nor will everyone in the world want to be. Are you saying you wish to force an innocent child into a life not fit for it? Are you saying you want an unready couple that took the necessary birth control precautions to take responsibility for a pregnancy that not only is unwanted, but isn't their fault? That if a baby were to be born with some disorder that could only bring them unhappiness throughout their life, they should just suffer through it and die? If you call that merciless murder then my hospitalized cousin who had asked for the plug to be pulled so he could stop suffering when there was no way left to help him is unjustifiedly suicidal, isn't he? The God I believe in is a loving, forgiving God who is omniscient enough to fully able to see that breaking the rules doesn't necessarily mean doing wrong...

Re: R.I.P Pia Phillips, The World just became a bit more dull

Just seeing this story, but it eerily similar to the way my girlfriend was shot and killed at her gateway 16 years ago. I would find out Empathy and sympathy are very light in Jamaica, much less more complex things like justice and honor. A couple years ago i was telling a bunch of cops that they have not been up to the task, and a couple of them actually laughed when I told them about that incident, which was partly due to a cop at that.

Re: The online payment dilemma in Jamaica

what kind of card do you use to receive money in jamaica master/debit/credit card please reply can you explain the process please you can email me at lelejamaicangirl@gmail.com

Re: Why LinkedIn is important for Jamaicans

I agree - it's definitely worthwhile. Very classless on both her and her friend's part. I'm sure every couple undergo things in their relationship that they would rather not be aired and some of these same people commenting have done worse. The guy is not perfect and obviously has things he needs to work on. She deliberately did this to tarnish his reputation all while pretending as if "oh, I'm just speaking out against emotional abuse". She knew exactly what she was doing. I'm not blaming her but there was absolutely no need to air all of that.

Re: Private: Untitled

I think this is a private matter for you both of you and the fact that he best friend aired your dirty laundry was disgusting and classless. She then chose to write it, a little more class even amount of disgust. I think you both handled this the wrong way dealing with this publicly. She didn't name you in her post but it was clear her intent was to hurt you as much as you've hurt her. I hope this is something you both will learn from.
